Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookiegate: Ralphs vs Vons

I'm working on an expose' about the corruption in the California food conglomerate bakery departments. Hold your hats, folks, but there is foul play. Ralph's has owned the lucrative Fall season Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookie business here in Los Angeles for years. Each time the few deciduous trees in LA lose their leaves, the people at Vons lose bakery sales. They know that when people craved a seasonal pumpkin treat, that Ralph's is where it's at.

Now that has changed.

In a scandal marked by espionage and possibly murder, Vons has obtained the secret Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookie recipe that has for years been locked away in the Ralph's safe. I can't reveal my sources, but because "Deep Throat" is too creepy a name for him, we'll go with "Slugsworth".

When you look in the Von's bakery section now, you will find Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookies in all their cakey goodness. But each time you enjoy one, know that it took espionage for them to exist there.

More to come...
