I’m honored to be presenting at the VII International Conference on Shared Parenting (ICSP 2025) on Thursday at 4pm in Lisbon.
My session focuses on the impact of separation on fathers, the grief they experience, and how we can help fathers survive emotionally so they can adapt to a shared-parenting reality.
💜 Lisbon Law School (Faculdade de Direito, Universidade de Lisboa)
💜 Thursday, December 4th
💜 4:10 PM
💜 Room 3
My talk will cover:
✓ New international research on fatherhood grief
✓ The mental-health and identity impact of losing daily fatherhood
✓ What fathers actually need from clinicians
✓ Practical counseling strategies to support dads — and protect children
Why this matters:
In the shared-parenting space, we all agree on one thing:
our work exists to protect children’s right to a healthy relationship with both parents.
At Father’s Guidance, we focus on the upstream part of that mission —
helping fathers stay emotionally healthy (and too often, alive) long enough to remain stable, connected, and present for their children.
Alienated fathers die by suicide more than 10× as often as alienated mothers.
That reality makes fatherhood grief a child protection issue.
